Steve Cornell

My name is Steve Cornell and I’ve been coaching in the East Bay area for over 30 years. I started coaching in 1992 at the CYO/AAU level. I was coaching all three of my daughters when they were young. I have coached high school basketball starting at Monte Vista High School in Danville from 1999 to 2016. I coached at Acalanes High School from 2017 to 2019 as the JV Girls Head Coach and assistant on the varsity team. I have also coached at San Ramon Valley High School from 2020-2022 as the Head Freshman Boys Coach. Currently, I am the Varsity Head Coach for the Girls at Monte Vista High School .

My goal as a coach is to instill basic basketball fundamentals that are beneficial to each player and have fun. Teaching players to know how to be a good teammate, know their role on a team, and to understand all players are important to the success of a team .
